Frankfurt, a symbol of modern culture

A bastion of modern Germany, Frankfurt leaves a strong impression thanks to its dynamism and cultural influence. Book a flight to Frankfurt to enjoy its museums and its parks, as well as a few historic buildings that have survived through the ages.

After a flight to Frankfurt, head to the top of the Henninger Turm. This 120-meter tower offers a splendid view over the city, the winding Main River, and the wooded Taunus Mountains. If you're not too afraid of heights, ascend the 200-meter Main Tower to take in the skyline of Mainhattan, which earned its nickname from its resemblance to New York.

A modern city due to post-World War II reconstruction, Frankfurt has nonetheless retained a few architectural treasures from before the war. If you prefer natural wonders, there is also the Palmengarten, with its 200,000 square meters of exotic gardens with plant species from around the world.

The Städel Museum is home to an unparalleled art collection, with exceptional works ranging from Botticelli to contemporary artists, from Vermeer and Tischbein to the French impressionists like Monet and Renoir. The Modern Art Museum, in a building resembling a giant ship, shines the spotlight on New York artists, from Segal to Lichtenstein. To ponder medieval furniture, Islamic ceramics and French porcelain, head to the Museum of Applied Art. Travelers with children will appreciate the Museum of Communication, with its antique radios the size of washing machines !
