Brest, surf haven of Brittany

Along the Atlantic Ocean, the Finistère region overflows with water sport possibilities. Wax your board, we're taking you surfing!

The 2,700-kilometre long Brittany coastline exposes both novice and experienced surfers to delectable Atlantic swells for some unforgettable rail grabs and cut backs. Long a marginal sport in a region that has been sailing for decades, surfing can now boast of having won over the crowds. The spots are multiplying around Brest. Come the weekend, Bretons and tourists alike populate the beaches of the south coast, but you should opt for the west coast of Finistère for the best setting.
From September to March, the conditions are best, with Atlantic depressions that encourage the waves to become hollow and consistent. Prepare to muscle thighs and abs up all along! The Breton coast is very steep and, as a result, receives the swells and wind all at once. Attach your leash, the board is not going to wait.
