New General Manager for AIR FRANCE KLM UK & Ireland

From 1st July 2009, Henri Hourcade is to become Air France KLM General Manager UK & Ireland. He will be taking over from Christine Ourmières who moved to London in 2005 and is now to become Air France KLM General Manager in the U.S.A based in New York.

Henri Hourcade joins Air France KLM UK & Ireland from Air France´s head office in Paris, where he held the position of Vice President Corporate and Distribution for the AIR FRANCE KLM Group since July 2008. Henry began his career at Air France in 1988 as Deputy Manager for the Martinique, Southern Caribbean region and has held previous roles, including IT and Training logistic Manager, Commercial Director for Scandinavia and Finland and Manager of Revenue Management Pricing for Europe and France. Henri will continue to manage the various responsibilities which Christine Ourmières led with immense dedication and involvement throughout the years.

Same as Christine Ourmières, Henri Hourcade holds a Masters from French business school, Essec.

Christine Ourmières is delighted to accept this key position in the USA and the new challenges it carries. In this new role, she will contribute all her experience and energy to making the success of the Air France KLM Group on the other side of the Atlantic.

Speaking about her departure Christine Ourmières said, ‘Needless to say I will be very sorry to leave my team with whom I have worked for 4 years on challenging tasks such as the finalisation of the Air France KLM merger, the launch of zero commission with travel agents, the joint venture with Delta Airlines, the expansion of the London City network and the preparation for the move to Terminal 4 effective next October. It has been an exciting and rewarding experience, both from a professional and personal point of view. There is of course still a lot to be done, but I believe we can be proud of what we have achieved together. I will be missing the UK and Ireland for their unique sense of humour, their efficiency in the business and their reactivity. I am of course delighted to have been given the immense role of Vice President Air France KLM U.S.A. and am prepared for the new projects I will lead over there. I am excited to be heading up a new team and am looking forward to working with our valued American customers.

Pierre Descazeaux, Senior Vice President Air France Europe and North Africa said, ´Christine has shown extraordinary commitment to Air France KLM in her career to date and both her understanding of international markets and achievements thus far, made her an excellent General Manager on this market. I am confident Henri will successfully take over and be a brilliant and appreciated new General Manager thanks to his experience and dedication which stand him in good stead to take Air France KLM forward in the UK and Ireland”.
