NEW! The Air France A380 will fly from Paris-CDG to Tokyo-Narita from Wednesday 1 September 2010.

Tokyo is an addition to the already existing A380 operated routes
Paris - New York City and Paris - Johannesburg.

Paris to Tokyo

Starting 1 September 2010, Air France will be bringing into service the A380 on flights between Paris and Tokyo. The largest civilian aircraft in the world will operate three flights a week between Paris and Tokyo. The flight will be daily as from 5 October.

Tokyo is therefore the first Air France destination in Asia to be served by the Air France A380 and the third worldwide after New York in November 2009 and Johannesburg in February 2010.

Paris to Johannesburg

The A380 is operating a daily service.

  • Paris-Johannesburg leaving at 11:20 pm, arriving the following morning at 10:55 am;
  • Johannesburg-Paris leaving at 8:30 pm, arriving at 6:00 am the following day.
Air France is the first carrier to fly the largest civilian aircraft in the world to the African continent!

Now is a great time to book your flight to Johannesburg: a Host City for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
Arrival of the first A380 in Africa
With its inaugural Paris-Johannesburg flight on 17 February, Air France is the first airline to operate the A380 to Africa. This world first illustrates the importance Air France places on its African routes.

Paris to New York City

The A380 operates daily scheduled flights:

  • Paris-New York leaving at 1:30 pm, arriving at 3:45 pm;
  • New York-Paris leaving at 7:15 pm, arriving at 8:35 am the following day.

Air France and the A380

On November 20th the Air France A380 landed at New York's J.F. Kennedy airport after the maiden flight between Europe and the United States for this type of aircraft.

The proceeds of the auction of seats on the two inaugural Paris-New York-Paris flights reached 300,000 euros, more than expected. The amount will thus finance 5 humanitarian projects for children in need instead of the three initially planned.

The Air France A380 can carry up to 538 passengers. There are three cabin classes on board: La Première - first,
Affaires – business and Voyageur - economy.
